Saturday, November 29th – Open from 10:00am-6:00pm

Sunday, November 30th – Open from 12:00pm-4:00pm

Lafayette, Colorado – WOW! Children’s Museum (World of Wonder) today announced upcoming events and programs at the Museum for the month of November.  Unless otherwise noted, all listed events and programs are included with Museum admission.

WOW! Craft Club – Saturday, November 8th  

Time: 10:00am-12:00pm

Feeling crafty?  Join us for our monthly Craft Club program!  This month we’re making bee themed crafts.  Craft Club is geared for children ages 3 and up and is included with Museum admission.

WOW!’s 18th Birthday Party  – Saturday, November 15th

Time: 10:00am-12:00pm

WOW! is turning 18 and you’re invited to help us celebrate!  Join us for birthday treats, face painting and craft activities.  All included with Museum admission.

Master Artist Studies: Van Gogh – Sunday, November 16th

Time: 1:00pm-3:00pm

Using the work of famous artists as inspiration, WOW!’s Master Artist Studies program encourages children to create their own masterpieces with a variety of mediums and materials.  This month, come paint your own night sky as we study and create artwork inspired by Vincent Van Gogh’s Starry Night.  Master Artist activities are included with Museum admission.

November Discovery Days – November 18th & November 19th   

Time: 10:00am-1:00pm each day

This month’s topic: Fall & Harvest

Discover your inner scientist!  Drop-in and explore our monthly informal hands-on science program.  This month, we’re celebrating autumn and learning about seasonal changes!  Discovery Days activities are included with Museum admission.

“The Dinosaur Lady” Paleontology Program – November 22nd   

Time: 11:00am

Learn more about dinosaurs from a real paleontologist!  Connie Burton Burkhart is a professional, certified paleontologist also known as “The Dinosaur Lady”!  The Dinosaur Lady will be presenting a program that weaves together facts and stories about dinosaurs using fossils, puppets and props.  This special program is included with Museum admission.

Plein Air Youth Artwork Display – On Display through November 22nd

WOW! Children’s Museum is pleased to host the youth entries (ages 14 and under) from the 2014 Outdoor Creations Plein Air Art Show sponsored by Boulder County Parks & Open Space.  All art work with be displayed in WOW!’s Art Room through November 22nd.

Spellbinders Storytelling – November 28th 

Time: 10:30am

Join a volunteer storyteller from Spellbinders for an interactive dinosaur themed story hour!  Story time is included with Museum admission.

Plein Air Youth Artwork Exhibit – On Display October 1st to November 22nd

WOW! Children’s Museum is pleased to host the youth entries (ages 14 and under) from the 2014 Outdoor Creations Plein Air Art Show sponsored by Boulder County Parks & Open Space.  All art work with be displayed in WOW!’s Art Room from October 1st to November 22nd.

Colorado Educational Theatre Story Makers Workshop – Friday, October 10th

Time: 11:00am

Tales – Not Just for Animals!  Join a storyteller from Colorado Educational Theatre (CET) for favorite animal stories from around the world.  Children will help bring tales to life through songs, mime, creative movement and happy endings!  This special program is included with Museum admission.

WOW! Craft Club – Saturday, October 11th

Time: 10:00am-12:00pm

Join us for our monthly Craft Club program.  This month we’re making spooky Halloween crafts!  Craft Club is geared for children ages 3 and up and is included with Museum admission.

Get Growing with Ollin Farms – Friday, October 17th

Time: 9:30am

Don’t miss the last Get Growing program of the season!  Help our friends from Ollin Farms wrap up the harvest season and prepare WOW!’s outdoor garden for the winter months. Garden program is included with Museum admission.

October Discovery Days – October 21st and October 22nd  

Time: 10:00am-1:00pm each day

Drop-in and explore our monthly informal hands-on science program.  This month, we’re mixing art and science together to learn about nature and Plein Air landscape artwork!  Special Guest: Boulder County Parks & Open Space on October 22nd.  Discovery Days activities are included with Museum admission.

WOW!’s Halloween Party – Sunday, October 26th

Time: 10:00am-12:00pm

Tickets: $12 per child; $6 for WOW! Members and adults are free

New Landscaping – Check it out!

Thanks to a generous in-kind donation from McStain Neighborhoods, the Museum has received redesigned new front landscaping. McStain Neighborhoods along with James Hoeft of Hoeft Designs, Rainbow Landscaping and Adrian Mendias of Unique Stone collectively donated $14,590 in new landscaping materials!

Bears, Bears Everywhere! Book Reading with Sue Baer – September 6th  

Time: 11:00am

Join local children’s book author Sue Baer as she reads from her books Bears, Bears, Everywhere! and The Grumbly, Rumbly Thunder.  This special event is included with Museum admission.

September Discovery Days – September 16th & September 17th

Time: 10:00am-1:00pm each day

This month’s theme:  Sailing with Pirates

Discover your inner scientist!  Drop-in and explore our monthly informal hands-on science program.  This month, we’re learning about pirates and the sea.  Discovery Days activities are open for exploration from 10:00am-1:00pm and are included with Museum admission. 

Happy 125th Birthday Lafayette! – September 16th to September 19th

Help the City of Lafayette celebrate its Quasquicentennial 125th Anniversary by making a birthday card in WOW!’s Art Room to display at September’s Art Night Out.  Craft activity is included with Museum admission.

Talk Like a Pirate Day – September 19th  

Ahoy mateys! Come dressed in your pirate garb and help us celebrate International Talk Like a Pirate Day!  We’ll have pirate themed crafts, activities and a pirate story time.  This special event is included with Museum admission.

Rain, Rain Go Away with Keep it Clean Partnership – September 25th  

Time: 11:00am

Discover the journey that rain takes in an urban environment with an interactive model presented by the Keep it Clean Partnership.  Learn about water pollution and how we can prevent it! This special program is included with Museum admission.
