Lafayette, Colorado – WOW! Children’s Museum (World of Wonder) today announced upcoming events and programs at the Museum for the month of April.  Unless otherwise noted, all listed events and programs are included with Museum admission.

Puppet Show Story Time – Wednesday, April 8th

Time: 10:00am     

Time for Puppets presents “Rachael Ratatony Reads”, a special puppet show story time!  Join us as Rachael Ratatony, everyone’s favorite fancy rat, reads Curious George Goes to a Costume Party.  This story time is geared for toddlers and is included with Museum admission.

WOW! Craft Club – Saturday, April 11th

Time: 10:00am-12:00pm

Feeling crafty?  Join us for our monthly Craft Club program.  This month, we’re making and decorating tooth fairy containers!  Craft Club is geared for children ages 3 and up and is included with Museum admission.

Itsy Bitsy Bugs – Tuesday, April 14th

Time: 10:00am

Presented by the Butterfly Pavilion, this program is guaranteed to keep your toddlers fluttering, hopping and singing!  With puppets, music, and of course, live bugs to keep your tots buzzing with excitement!  This special program is included with Museum admission.

Get Growing! with Ollin Farms – Thursday, April 16th

Time: 11:00am

Join the farmers from Ollin Farms as they tend to WOW!’s outdoor garden.  Come lend a helping hand as we prepare the garden for the growing season and plant seeds too!  Garden program is included with Museum admission.

April Discovery Days – Tuesday, April 21st and Wednesday, April 22nd

Time: 10:00am-1:00pm each day

This month’s topic: Be Green

Discover your inner scientist!  Drop-in and explore our monthly informal hands-on science program.  This month, we’re learning about alternative energy and how to be green for Earth Day.  Discovery Days activities are included with Museum admission.

Fancy Schmancy Family Fundraiser – Sunday, April 26th

Time: 3:00pm-5:30pm

Get the family dressed up and come to a fancy gala just for kids!  Featuring a special concert by Jeff & Paige; fabulous silent auction; crafts for kids; appetizers and drinks; surprises and more!  Thank you to event sponsors: Bank of the West, The Front Range Catering Co. and Dr. Joseph Dankey, Broomfield Orthodontics.

Brackitz Builds at WOW!

WOW! is fortunate to have a partnership with Brackitz to offer their innovative building toy on the floor of the Museum and for purchase. Check out this great blog post from them featuring some amazing structures that were built at the Museum’s Brackitz Build It day. Remember, WOW! is the only place in Colorado where you can build and buy Brackitz sets!

Storybook Ballet – Friday, March 6th

Time: 11:00am     

Join Mountain Contemporary Dance Arts (Mountain Kids) for a magical storybook experience.  Miss Mimi Ferrie will bring a storybook to life with dance and movement.  This dance program is geared for children ages 3-5 years old and is included with Museum admission.

WOW! Craft Club – Saturday, March 14th

Time: 10:00am-12:00pm

Feeling crafty?  Join us for our monthly Craft Club program.  This month, learn about the art of mosaics and make one to take home!  Craft Club is geared for children ages 3 and up and is included with Museum admission.

McTeggart Irish Dance Performance – Saturday, March 14th

Time: 11:00am

Get into the St. Patrick’s Day spirit with a special dance performance by the McTeggart Irish Dancers.  Included with Museum admission.

March Discovery Days – Tuesday, March 17th and Wednesday, March 18th

Time: 10:00am-1:00pm each day

This month’s topic: Big & Small

Discover your inner scientist!  Drop-in and explore our monthly informal hands-on science program.  This month, we’re learning about very little things and very big ones!  Discovery Days activities are included with Museum admission.

NanoDays – March 24th, March 25th and March 26th

Time: 10:00am-1:00pm each day

Join us for NanoDays, celebrating the science of the small!  Explore how to make things invisible, investigate new nano products and materials, make nano crafts and launch nano particles with an air cannon!  Organized by NISE Net, NanoDays is a nationwide festival of educational programs about nanoscale science and engineering.  NanoDays activities are included with Museum admission.

Sensory Friendly Playtime – Sunday, March 29th

Time: 9:30am-11:30am

Sensory Friendly Playtime is a special Museum event for children with autism or sensory processing disorders.  WOW! will limit admission to 20 families, turn down sounds and lights and provide adaptive equipment to offer a safe and fun experience for all!  Krista Reinhardt-Ruprech of Big Dog Little Dog Healing Arts will also be facilitating special art therapy activities.  Reservations are required and space is limited.  To reserve your space contact Olivia Ameigh, olivia@wowchildrensmuseum.org.  A special thank you to KidSPOT Pediatric Therapies for their generous support of this program.

Join us for NanoDays, celebrating the science of the small!  Explore how to make things invisible, investigate new nano products and materials, make nano crafts to keep, and launch nano particles with an air cannon!  Organized by NISE Net, NanoDays is a nationwide festival of educational programs about nanoscale science and engineering.  NanoDays activities are open for exploration from 10:00am-1:00pm and are included with Museum admission.

WOW! will also be presenting NanoDays activities at the Mamie Doud Eisenhower Library in Broomfield on April 11th.

Send a Card to a Friend Day – Saturday, February 7th     

In celebration of National Send a Card to a Friend Day, write and decorate a card or letter for your friend in our Art Room.  Bring a stamp, your address book and we’ll put your card or letter in the mail!  Included with Museum admission.

WOW! Craft Club – Saturday, February 14th     

Time: 10:00am-12:00pm

Feeling crafty?  Drop-in and join us for our monthly Craft Club program.  This month, weave a Valentine’s heart for your sweetheart. Craft Club is geared for children ages 3 and up and is included with Museum admission.

Chinese New Year Celebration – Monday, February 16th     

Time: 11:00am

Welcome the Year of the Goat with Chinese New Year crafts and a traditional lion dance performance by the Shaolin Hung Mei Kung Fu Association of Boulder.  This special performance is included with Museum admission.

February Discovery Days – Tuesday, February 17th & Wednesday, February 18th

Time: 10:00am-1:00pm each day

This month’s topic: Colorado Weather

Discover your inner scientist!  Drop-in and explore our monthly informal hands-on science program.  This month, we’re learning about windy, snowy weather. Discovery Days activities are included with Museum admission.

Brackitz Build It! – Saturday, February 21st

Time: 10:00am-12:00pm

Join our friends from Brackitz for fun building activities!  With Brackitz, kids can build and invent amazing, durable structures regardless of skill level.  With just a few tools at their disposal – wooden planks and one-of-a-kind connectors – children are given the opportunity to use their imagination to construct entirely new worlds!  This program is included with Museum admission.

Heads or Tails Theme Day – Thursday, February 26th

Come to the Museum with crazy hair or in your wackiest pair of pants (or both!) and pick a prize from the treasure chest.  Parents and adults are also encouraged to dress up and participate!

WOW! Craft Club – Saturday, January 10th
Time: 10:00am-12:00pm
Feeling crafty? Drop-in and join us for our monthly Craft Club program. This month in conjunction with our Master Artist Series, we’re celebrating the artwork of Faith Ringgold and are making story quilts. Craft Club is geared for children ages 3 and up and is included with Museum admission.

Spellbinders Storytelling – January 16th
Time: 10:30am
Join a volunteer from Spellbinders a fun and interactive story time featuring songs, rhymes and stories. Spellbinders Storytelling is included with Museum admission.

Admission at these events are free for children and adults thanks to our Scholarship Program.
