2012 Summer Science Classes at WOW!
Check out all the fun-filled, hands-on science classes happening at WOW! this summer. Please call (303) 604-2424 to register.
Cost: $10 per child; $9 per child for WOW! Members. Advanced registration is required!

2012 Summer Class Offerings:
Planet Hopping
- Ages 3-5 years old (with a guardian), 10:30-11:15am on Tuesday, July 10
Learn about the Sun, the Moon, and the planets as we hop through our solar system. See (and be!) your favorite planet, then make a planet or Sun to keep.
Mirror, Mirror
- Grades K-2, 10:30-11:30am on Thursday, July 12
- Grades 3-5, 1:30-2:30pm on Thursday, July 12
Play with light and bounce it wherever you like! Use mirrors to make a kaleidoscope and view the Sun safely through a telescope (weather permitting).
Young Inventors
- Grades 3-5, 1:30-3:30pm on Tuesday, July 24
Calling all problem solvers! In this two-hour class, take apart some everyday items to see what’s inside and how they work. Then create something fabulous of your own to keep.
Dinosaurs
- Ages 3-5 years old (with guardian), 10:30-11:15am on Wednesday, July 25
- Grades K-2, 1:30-2:30pm on Wednesday, July 25
Learn about different types of dinosaurs. Discover how fossils are made, and dig for dinosaurs to keep.
SunSational
- Grades 3-5, 1:30-3:30pm on Thursday, August 2
Capture the energy of the Sun in this two-hour class. View the Sun safely through a telescope (weather permitting), create rainbows, and more. Explore the Sun through myths and our SunSational exhibit. Build your own solar oven and make solar art to keep.
Science of Bubbles
- Ages 3-5 years old (with a guardian), 10:30-11:15am on Friday, August 3
- Grades K-2, 1:30-2:30pm on Friday, August 3
Explore the nature of water, air, and soap – BUBBLES! Experiment with different tools for blowing bubbles. Make your own bubble makers to test and keep.
Science of Ice Cream
- Ages 3-10 years old (ages 3-5 yrs old must be with a guardian)
- Choose 10:30-11:15am or 1:30-2:15pm on Tuesday, August 7
Learn about different states of matter while making ice cream. We will identify the purpose of each ingredient and eat our yummy results!
If your child has food allergies, please notify the museum when you register.
Refund Policy: WOW! will issue a credit for a future class if student is unable to attend a class. WOW! will only refund class fee if the Museum has to cancel a class.
